W. L. Weller Special Reserve Bourbon Whiskey Value Guide

W. L. Weller Special Reserve is a highly sought-after Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon known for its smooth profile, achieved by substituting rye with wheat in the mash bill. Produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, this 'Green Label' expression is legendary among collectors for sharing the same base recipe as the prestigious Pappy Van Winkle line.

What affects the value of W. L. Weller Special Reserve Bourbon Whiskey?

• Market availability and regional demand, as Buffalo Trace products often face supply constraints despite a $40.00-$44.00 MSRP.
• The condition of the paper label, specifically looking for any peeling, scuffs, or water damage that lowers collectible appeal.
• The integrity of the plastic screw cap seal; an intact, untampered tax stamp or perforated seal is essential for value.
• The specific bottling year within the 2020-2024 range, as slight variations in distribution can affect local secondary pricing.

How to Identify W. L. Weller Special Reserve Bourbon Whiskey?

• Look for the distinctive green paper label featuring the 'W. L. Weller' signature and 'Special Reserve' branding.
• Verify the 750ml glass bottle size and the presence of a green plastic screw cap typical of the 2020-2024 era.
